Shellie's mother is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series, first appearing in Dragon Quest X. They are the kindly mothers of Shell slimes.
Characteristics[edit]
Shellie's mother is an orange slime similar in appearance to a She-slime that protect themselves with a spiral shell resembling a white Neptunea antiqua. Their shells make the slimes appear as though they have a motherly beehive hairdo on their heads. The shells of Shellie's mothers lack the sharp spines seen on those of shell slimes as they do not wish to harm their children. However, the motherly slimes are known to call down bolts of lightning when threatened.

Dragon Quest X[edit]
Shellie's mother appears as the rarefied monster version of the Shell slime starting in Version 1.5 of the game. They are able to cast both Bang and Heal, along with protecting themselves with their shells, and will also cast Zap when they become enraged.
Dragon Quest Rivals[edit]
Shellie's mother appeared in the 8th card pack "Get Rich Quick! Casino Paradise" as a super rare card common to all leaders. When she was in play, she would increase the attack power of all slimes besides herself by 1.
Dragon Quest Tact[edit]
Shellie's mother appears as an A-rank monster of the Slime family during the second part of the limited Hijinks on the High Seas! Swimwear, Waves, and Pirates!? event. She will join the party in Chapter 2, Episode 1 of the event quests and she can be fully awakened by repeating the quest at any difficulty. Shellie's mother also stars in her own Battle Road.
