The aeras shield is a legendary shield found in all versions of Dragon Quest VII. It was created by the Wind Spirit during the eons-long war against the Demon King―the shield best embodies Her element in the Reimagined version of the game, where it greatly reduces the power of breath attacks used against the wielder and is capable of channeling the Wind Spirit's power to blow breath attacks back to the source when used as an item.
Like the other pieces of the saint's equipment, the existence of the shield is first alluded to in the Shrine of Mysteries by way of a stone puzzle piece carved in its likeness.

Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past[edit]
The shield increases defence by +60 and style by +30; it reduces Crack and Ice-breath damage by 30 points, and will cast Bound when used as an item. It is found in the depths of the Cathedral of Blight when following the path of wind, and can be equipped by the Hero, Aishe, and Sir Mervyn.
