The Dragon Warrior set is given to the player by Greygnarl prior to a cutscene that depicts the fallen Celestrian riding on the wizened wyrm's back. Masking the player's customized appearance this way allows the event to play out without breaking the player's immersion by not depicting their avatar.

Etymology

• As with the entire set, the helm is a homage to the Dragon Warrior international title used for the series prior to the modern localization standard set by Richard Honeywood in 2005 with Dragon Quest VIII.
