The Tap devil is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series, first appearing in Dragon Quest VIII. It is a sprightly demon that has mastered many different forms of dance.
Characteristics[edit]
Tap devils are humanoid demons with orange-brown skin that hop back and forth constantly in battle. They have sunken blue eyes with small black sclera, a tiny pair of horns on top of their heads, a long tail, and a large pair of pointed ears. The devils wear pointy leather shoes, short magenta capelets, and green trousers. Compared to their fellow dancing cousins, they have the most dances in their repertoire, using them to hinder their enemies in many ways, as well as being able to sacrifice themselves for their fellow monsters. The devils have a chance to drop both the capes they wear and their tails after battle.
