Oubliette

Oubliette is a dungeon in Dragon Quest IX.

It is located in the depths of Gittingham Palace. It is the location of the prison where Corvus is held captive.

This location contains poisonous marshes/swamps.

The name "oubliette" is French for "forgotten place". This is a reference to Corvus being held there for a very long amount of time.
The name "oubliette" is appropriate to this particular dungeon, given that it is indeed accessible only by a trap door at its topmost level.^[1]
