Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past[edit]

The poison moth knife has an attack bonus of +23, a style bonus of +13, and the paralysis rate and triggering skills remain the same as in VI. It can be equipped by Maribel and Sir Mervyn. One is given to the party after the events at Faraday in the past and another can be found at the Roamers encampment. It cannot be purchased from any shop, but they can be sold for 475 gold. Poison moth knives can also be won as prizes from the Lucky Panel at the Casino.

Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King[edit]

The poison moth knife has an attack bonus of +29. It can only be equipped by Jessica or Red and will paralyse foes 1/8th of the time. This effect will not trigger on if her knife skills are used. It can be purchased in Pickham for 950 gold.

Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies[edit]

The Poison Moth Knife has expanded into a alchemical family of blades, each carrying a 1/8th chance to stun on normal attacks. Additionally, they will also deal a base +10% damage to bugs.
