The Scholar's specs, also known as the INT specs, are a recurring accessory in the Dragon Quest series that first appeared in the Super Famicom remake of Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of Salvation. They increase the wearer's wisdom.

Appearances

Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of Salvation

The scholar's specs have a +15 Wisdom bonus. They changes the wearer's Personality to Wit. They are received as a prize from the medal collector in Aliahan after turning in 35 Mini medals. The scholar's specs can be sold for 1,275 gold coins, but it is not recommended to do so as there is only one pair in the game. They only appear in remakes of the game.

Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past

The scholar's specs have a +15 Wisdom bonus. They can be equipped by The Hero, Maribel Mayde, Sir Mervyn, and Aishe. Three pairs can be found in Gröndal, Pomposo Bridge, and the Immigrant Town/The Haven in a chest requiring the Magic Key.

Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King

The scholar's specs have a +15 Wisdom bonus and can be equipped by all characters. They can be purchased from Argonia once the Bazaar starts for 2,700 gold coins and sold for 1,350 gold coins. One pair can be found at the The Holy Isle of Neos. They are also dropped rarely by Sea dragons. Scholar's specs can also be used to make the Scholar's cap in the Alchemy Pot by combining it with a Magical hat.
