First appearance | Dragon Quest VII |
Blamara first appeared in Dragon Quest VII as one of the summons the Druid vocation could conjure forth using the ability That Special Summon, before later appearing in the Monsters spin-offs.
Appearance and personality[edit]
Blamara is a muscled green humanoid with wild black hair, a long face, spikes protruding from his elbows, shoulders, and back, and small bat wings. He wears amber-colored armor with openings for his spikes, and carries a jagged sword. As with his fellow summons his lower body disappears into the black portal he emerges from.
Blamara takes combat very seriously and wants nothing more than to fight against the strongest opponents he can find. He takes losing very well as it means that there is still more to the world of armed martial arts for him to learn.
Appearances[edit]
Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past[edit]
A druid has to reach level 30 before being able to summon Blamara. Once in battle, Blamara will not use normal attacks and focus on skills instead, using Falcon Slash, Hatchet Man, Multislice, and Sword Dance while supporting the party with Oomph and weakening foes with Cursed Verse. His HP is 2,000, his MP 90, and has 340 attack, 240 defence, and 115 agility.
Dragon Quest X[edit]
Blamara was added to the game in the version 4.0 update that added the druid to the list of available vocations. Blamara is the physical powerhouse of the four spirits with an attack stat of 960, and he puts it to good use as every skill he has will strike the enemy multiple times. These include falcon slash, an uber falcon slash that cuts four times at 60% damage per strike, a defence-lowering skill, and an attack-lowering skill. Blamara can also support the party by casting Midheal and Zing, and his signature ability is a six-strike attack that targets one enemy and hits for 65% per blow for a total of 390% damage.
Due to changes made to the summoning system in X, Blamara can only materialize for 120 seconds and no other spirits can enter battle even if multiple druids are in the party.
Dragon Quest Monsters: Caravan Heart[edit]
Blamara dwells in Gwaelin's Gate, having hid the silver key in the Lake Cave to keep weaklings from entering the tunnel. He is an A-rank elemental monster that naturally learns Focus Strength, Lightning Slash, and Multislice.
