The Knight shift is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series, first appearing in Dragon Quest VII. It has the ability to transform into a party member in battle. Its name is a play on the term "night shift".

Characteristics[edit]

Shifty, shapeless shadow knights that are solid enough to strike with devastating damage from their sword, but they also have the incredible power to imitate any member of a party of adventurers, complete with their strength and their complex collection of battle abilities. This effect can only be reversed by the Ra's Mirror.
