The Zumeanie is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series, first appearing in Dragon Quest IX. It is an anthropomorphic yellow and orange zucchini that wields a spear in battle.

Characteristics

Zumeanies and their cousins are animated squashes with deranged smiles on their faces and a chonmage-style topknot on top of their heads. The zumeanie is a variety of the cruelcumber that has a mostly orange body with green spots that blends into its yellow upper half. It is capable of confusing enemies with their spinning spear attacks. Due to their tropical habitats, the vegetables tend to be vulnerable to ice-elemental spells and abilities.

Having been brought up in a tropical paradise, they're cooler than cruelcumbers, and make Multithrust look like a dapper dance move.
