The Cloak of Evasion is a recurring armor in the Dragon Quest franchise. This garb changes the frequency of evading attacks from 1⁄64 to 12.5% unless otherwise noted below.
Appearances
Dragon Quest II
The Cloak can be purchased for all characters in Rippleport for 1250G. Equipping it grants +20 defence in the original, and +35 in all other versions. It boosts evasion by 20% in all versions.
Dragon Quest III
Capable of being equipped by all vocation, the cloak of evasion (called the Evade suit in the GBC Version) makes it debut by providing +20 defence and +20% evasion in the NES Version, and +23 defence and +12.5 evasion in all subsequent versions.
It can be purchased for 2,900 gold coins, and sold for 2,175.
Dragon Quest IV
The cloak of evasion has a defense bonus of +28. It can be worn by Alena, Borya & Maya.
It can be purchased for 3,000 gold coins and sold for 2,250.
Dragon Quest V
The cloak of evasion has a defense bonus of +28.
Dragon Quest VI
Provides +28 defense and may be equipped by Milly, Ashlynn, Nevan, and the slime recruits.
Dragon Quest VII
Provides +28 defense and may be donned by Maribel, Gabo, and Melvin.
Dragon Quest VIII
The cloak of evasion has a defense bonus of +29. It can be worn by Jessica and Angelo.
