Sleeping hibiscus is a recurring item in the series. When used as a tool in battle, it has a chance of putting a single enemy to sleep and is consumed upon use. It also tends to be used as a material for crafting items related to sleep.

Sleeping hibiscus has a high chance of putting a single enemy to sleep in battle and is consumed upon use. The item's description erroneously states that it affects a group of enemies. Sleeping hibiscus can be purchased from Bloomingdale's item shop for 68 gold and can be collected from the Bloomingdale region and Snowberia. The flower can also be dropped by Funghouls, Ram raiders, and King crabs, as well as received as a reward for completing Quest #1: One Good Turn, which can be repeated as many times as desired. One is required to complete Quest #146: Hail to the Queen. It can be sold for 34 gold.

Dragon Quest X[edit]
Sleeping hibiscus once again puts a single enemy to sleep and is consumed upon use. It is also used in Alchemy to add a chance to put an enemy to sleep when attacking to pieces of armwear. It can be picked up from sparkly spots or dropped by Incubi and Queen slimes.

Sleeping hibiscus has a chance of putting a single enemy to sleep and is consumed upon use. It can be picked up from sparkly spots in the Heliodorian Foothills, the Emerald Coast, and L'Académie de Notre Maitre des Médailles or dropped by Funghouls and Chewlips, as well as their vicious and malicious counterparts respectively. One can be found in a pot at the Sultan's Palace in Gallopolis. One can be received as a reward for completing Quest #1: The People's Friend. It can be sold for 34 gold.
Sleeping hibiscus is only used in a single recipe for the Fun-Size Forge:
- Recipe: Rousing ring = Gold ore x2 + Sleeping hibiscus + Wakerobin x3
