The Rousing ring, also known as the Ring of awakening, is a recurring accessory in the Dragon Quest series. Featuring a design of an open eye, it is designed to help prevent the wearer from falling asleep.


Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King[edit]

A ring that makes the wearer resistant to sleep attacks.[1]

The Ring of awakening has a Defence bonus of +10, makes the wearer completely immune to sleep, and can be equipped by all characters. It can only be made in the Alchemy Pot and can be sold for 550 gold. The ring can also be used to create a pair of Scholar's specs.

Dragon Quest X[edit]

The Rousing ring has a Defence bonus of +2, a Style bonus of +3, and increases resistance against sleep by 50%. With accessory synthesis, the Defence and sleep resistance (up to a total of 80%) can be increased further.

The recipe book Little Lifesavers contains the recipe for the rousing ring. It can be found in a treasure chest in Heliodor Castle in the Queen's Bedchamber during the second act. If two rousing rings +3 are equipped at once, it is possible to become completely resistant to being put to sleep.

The quick recipe for the rousing ring can be received from King Flaminio in exchange for 2 Mini medals onboard the Stonecloud, while the classic and luxury recipes can be dropped rarely by Drackmages and Drackymas.

Dragon Quest Heroes II: Twin Kings and the Prophecy's End[edit]

The Rousing ring reduces the duration of sleep by 40%. Once it has been fully upgraded, the sleep duration will be reduced by 80% and it will gain a +10 bonus to Defence. The ring can be obtained by exchanging 6 Mini medals once or dropped by Man o' wars.

Dragon Quest Builders[edit]

The Ring of awakening nullifies the effects of Snooze when equipped. It can be found in a treasure chest during Chapter 3 after defeating the first Mimic.

Dragon Quest of the Stars[edit]

The Rousing ring is a 2★ accessory with a Defence bonus of +2 that comes equipped with the Sleep Guard skill, which increases resistance against sleep by 50%. At max level, the resistance can be boosted to a total of 60%. The ring can be created at the equipment workshop.

Dragon Quest Walk[edit]

The Rousing ring is a 3★ accessory with a max HP bonus of +10 that increases the wearer's sleep resistance by 3%.

Dragon Quest Treasures[edit]

The Rousing ring is Treasure No. 231 in the Armour category and can be found on the Wingswept Moors. Its base value is 1,200,000 gold.
