Jarvis is a minor villain in Dragon Quest XI that serves as the first real boss in the game. Despite playing an insignificant role in the title, his actions have a large impact on one of the Luminary's companions, and his dialogue alludes to the greater forces of evil working behind the scenes.
Characteristics
Jarvis is a blue Jargon with a lightly colored tattoo on his abdomen. The pot he carries is covered with runes that glow softly, and holds the magical power he stole from Veronica. Prior to the beginning of the game, Jarvis drained Veronica of her magic and inadvertently turned her into a little girl. Jarvis has no aptitude for spellcraft himself, and instead relies on his bulk and bad breath in battle.
Despite being a boorish oaf, Jarvis is able to lead a small gang of monsters and is informed enough of the actions of the Lord of Shadows to steal magic from sorcerers in an effort to make an offering to the rising power.
