The Ice queen is a monster that was introduced in Dragon Quest VIII.

Characteristics[edit]

Unlike her contemporary temptresses, the ice queen is less concerned about flaunting her stuff and more in freezing hapless adventurers into perfectly preserved trophies. Unbecoming of a supposed witch, she has no magical aptitude whatsoever but can bolster her frigid breath with the use of Tension.

Trivia[edit]

  • The Ice queen's feminine appearance, ability to exhale freezing blizzards, and the location she haunts being a snowy wasteland is possibly an allusion to the Yuki-onna, a yōkai heavily associated with winter and snowstorms that takes the guise of a beautiful young woman.
