The stainless scrapper (formerly ProtoMech) is a mechanical monster that was introduced in Dragon Quest VII. It is a more powerful version of the Automaton enemies faced in the Faraday region.
Characteristics
Stainless scrappers are rudimentary mechs with simple humanoid-shaped bodies consisting of a torso, four limbs, and a head. Their heads are featureless except for a single, glowing red "eye". The majority of their parts are blue, with their joints and torsos being red, and they have a green steam engine on their back, which presumably powers them. They have a variety of green cords connected throughout their body. Stainless scrappers carry a large axe in their left hands and a spiked mace in their right.
Appearances
Dragon Quest VII
The stainless scrapper can be found underneath the Dig Site and the Malign Shrine. It has a rare chance of dropping an Automaton heart, allowing a party member to become a Automaton if that heart is taken to Alltrades Abbey.
