The bronze shield is a recurring shield in the Dragon Quest series which made its first appearance in Dragon Quest III. It is a low-level shield made out of beaten bronze plates.
Appearances
Dragon Quest III
The bronze shield has a defence bonus of +7. It can be equipped by the Hero, Warriors, Priests, Merchants, Thieves, and Sages. However, the sage loses the ability to equip it in remake versions. It can be purchased for 250 gold coins (180 in the NES Version) from Romaria, Khoryv, Asham, and Theddon and sold for 187 (135 in the NES Version). It can also be dropped by Crabber dabber doos. One can be found in the Skyfell Tower in remake versions of the game.
Dragon Quest V
The Bronze shield has a defence bonus of +11.
Dragon Quest VI
Dragon Quest VII
The bronze shield has a defence bonus of +11 and a style bonus of +7. It can be equipped by Hero, Kiefer, Sir Mervyn, and Aishe. It can be purchased in Frobisher in both the past and present for 470 gold and sold for 235 gold.
Dragon Quest VIII
The bronze shield has a defence bonus of +10. It can be equipped by the Hero and Yangus. It can be purchased from Ascantha for 370 gold and sold for 185 gold. It can be made using the Alchemy Pot. One can be found in the Ruined Abbey and dark skeletons will rarely drop them.
