The Poison Moth Knife, Venomous dagger or Bug Knife, is a recurring weapon in the Dragon Quest franchise. Of unusual design, it can induce paralysis on strike 13% of the time.

Appearances

Dragon Quest IV

The poison moth knife has an attack bonus of +24. It can be wielded by Borya, Torneko Taloon, Maya & Meena. Laurel has one among his equipment.

It can be purchased for 750 gold coins, and sold for 562. Tessie will sell it at Torneko's shop for 1,125.

The poison moth knife has an attack bonus of +24. It can be purchased in Stockenbarrel for 900 gold.

The batterfly knife has an attack bonus of +38, and will deal an additional 20% damage to insect family monsters in addition to causing paralysis. The blade can be honed further by combining it with one Disturbin' Turban and five Butterfly wings, resulting in the Dread Dagger. The papallion poker has an attack bonus of +57, and keeps the same bonuses of its weaker forms.
