The Crocodog is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series, first appearing in Dragon Quest VIII. It is an unusual monster that is a hybrid between a crocodile and a dog.
Characteristics
Crocodogs are bizarre and powerful monsters that float about as if swimming through midair. As their name implies, they are a cross between crocodiles and dogs, as well as having some draconic features. They have reddish-brown scales, pale yellow undersides, and have a shaggy purple mane around their necks that runs down their backs. Their canine features consist of the noses at the end of their long snouts and their legs. The crocodogs make use of their immense size by slamming their entire bodies down on their opponents. Like its cousins, the crocodog was reclassified as a dragon when it returned to both X and Monsters: Joker 3.
