Dragon Quest Monsters: Caravan Heart

Etymology

Carnivine is possibly a spin on the original name, Carnivore Plant, combining carnivore, a being that eats meat, with vine, a tendril-like component found on some plants.

Trivia

  • The monster shares its name, possibly by coincidence, with a Pokémon.
  • Carnivines also bear a thematic similarity to the Piranha Plants of Super Mario fame, though they lack the tropical coloring and mottled appearance.
