The Putrefido is a recurring monster that was first introduced in Dragon Quest III.
Characteristics
It is a blue, zombified version of a wolf-like beast. One of its eyes hangs out, and some bones protrude here and there.

Etymology
Putrefido is likely a combination of putrid and Fido, a famous dog that came to public attention because of his unwavering loyalty to his dead master.
