The Anarchaeopteryx is a monster that appears exclusively in Dragon Quest VII. It can be found in the Marsh Cave and the Roamers region in the past.

Characteristics[edit]

Anarchaeopteryxes are large, leaping, aggressive backwards bird monsters that have distinct dinosaurian features and a dippy way of barely hovering above in the air with their near useless vestigial wings, leaving their claws scrapping against the floor of the caves they usually lurk in. However, this featherbrained half-flight gives them extra force to put behind their punishing peck attacks with their massive bludgeoning beaks. They have a blue boisterous plumage and sharp yellow scales, constantly flapping wicked little wings, a long swinging scaly tail, and their bulky beaks are similar to that of a much more dangerous monster family, the dragons.

Etymology[edit]

The anarchaeopteryx's name is a combination of anarchy, in reference to their movement and attack pattern; and archaeopteryx, a genus of bird-like dinosaurs.
