The Picksy is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series, first appearing in Dragon Quest IV. It is a sprite-like monster with angelic wings on its back.
Characteristics
Picksies are humanoid creatures with blue skin, a small pair of angelic wings on their back, spiral horns on their forehead, and a large pair of pointed ears. They wear orange togas and sandals. On their heads, they have a shell-like growth in a darker shade of blue than their skin and they have yellow eyes with small irises. The mischievous creatures have a tendency to elude adventurers, as they only become active at certain times of day. In battle, picksies are fond of boosting the agility of themselves and their allies with their Acceleratle spell. The monsters are often classified as demons in spinoff games.
Appearances
Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen
Dragon Quest X
Picksies appeared from the beginning of the game, making their reappearance in the main series after 22 years. They are able to cast Acceleratle once again and breathe out Chilly Breath, as well as being able to call for backup from more of their kind.

Trivia
- A pixie is a type of mythological creature from British folklore. They are generally benign, mischievous, and short in stature, becoming more active at night. Pixies often inhabit ancient underground sites such as rock circles, barrows, and ringforts.
- It is a common complaint among players of IV that, when filling out 'The Big Book of Beasts', they are often missing the Picksy, as it only appears in Chapter 1 in Loch Tur at nighttime. When players get the balloon, they can access the tower once more in Chapter 5. Completing the entire monster book awards the player 250,000 tokens for use in the casinos in Endor and Immigrant Town. They can also be encountered near the Last Chance Saloon or north of the Desert Inn later in the game.
