The Striking sabrecat is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series, first appearing in Dragon Quest II. When it first debuted, it was a stronger, pink-furred variant of the Sabrecat, but in some spinoff games it became a palette swap of the Great sabrecat instead.
Characteristics
The original striking sabrecat resembles the real-world smilodons of the Pleistocene era with pink fur and fearsome solid yellow eyes. This design make a reappearance in Dragon Quest of the Stars, but starting with Monster Battle Road II, the sabrecat became a pink and red-furred palette swap of the Great sabrecat. This design went on to reappear in Joker 3 and Tact, as well.

Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 3
Tigercub appeared as an infant form to the striking sabrecat, paralleling the Great sabrecat and the Great sabrecub.
Dragon Quest Tact
Striking sabrecat appears as an A-rank monster of the Beast family. It can learn Singe, Sear, and Hades Pit naturally and its Leader Perk raises the martial potency of the party, including itself, by 5% in a 5x5 square around it. The striking sabrecat can be faced as an enemy at Dirkandor during the limited Dragon Quest II event, referencing the Luminaries' acquisition of the Moon Sigil.
