The Muddy hand, originally known as Goopi, is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series. Introduced in Dragon Quest II, this material monster has been in many installments in both the main series and its spinoffs.

The muddy hand is basically an animated human hand made of mud. It has the annoying ability of summoning other muddy hands, making the battle last longer. However, this can be a secret blessing to the player as the player gains the experience of defeating the extra monsters. In the main series, the muddy hand is typically classified in the Undead family, but in spinoffs, it is usually in the Material family.
