For the Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride enemy previously localized as phoenix, see Firebird.

The Phoenix is a breed of radiant raptor that were once worshiped by man as deities, but any relation to the true Everbird is just speculation.

Phoenixes can be bred with a combination of any member of the Bird family as the pedigree and a Gismo as a mate. They do not appear in random encounters but can be recruited from Foreign Masters.
