The appearance of an invisible swordsman is that of a [[Undead family|disembodied]] indigo blue cape that holds a silver longswords on its left side. According to its bestiary description in ''VIII'', the swordsmen are former knights that sacrificed their bodies to Rhapthorne, the Lord of Darkness, in exchange for power. Much like its demonic master, they are able to call upon the anger of gods and drop down meteors from the sky onto their opponents. After battle, the invisible swordsmen are able to drop their ragged capes and rusty swords for adventurers to use.

The Invisible swordsman is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series, first appearing in Dragon Quest VIII. It is a phantom swordsman that has been granted great power by a demonic god.

Characteristics[edit]
