The cyclown (formerly known as razor wind and WindBeast) is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series. It is a blue, clown-like monster whose lower body is perpetually wrapped in a swirling whirlwind.
Characteristics
Cyclowns are blue humanoid creatures with cartoonish faces and two antennae on top of their heads. Their most notable feature is the cyclone that they ride around on, which completely obscures their lower body and allows . They are elemental spirits associated with wind and they attack their foes with sharp, cutting gales.

Although cyclowns do not make an appearance in the game as enemies, an image of a cyclown can be seen at the Ancient Fane in the PS1 version of the game, representing the element of wind.

Dragon Quest Monsters: Caravan Heart
Etymology
The cyclown is based on a kamaitachi, a yōkai, or supernatural creature, from Japanese mythology. It is a mischievous creature, sometimes interpreted as a weasel, that rides on dust devils and is known to cut people with their sickle-like nails. The kamaitachi make frequent appearances in Japanese media, including anime, manga, and video games.
