The battle axe is a recurring weapon in the Dragon Quest franchise. It is often a mid-ranking axe.

The battle axe has an attack bonus of +60 (+40 in the NES Version). It can only be equipped by a Warrior. They can be bought for 2,500 gold and sold for 1,875 gold.

Dragon Quest IV

The battle-axe has an attack bonus of +50. They can be bought for 5,500 gold in Riverton and Rosehill. Battle axes sell for 4,125 gold. The Hero and Ragnar can equip them.

Dragon Quest V

The battle axe has an attack bonus of +45. Can be bought for 4,000 gold in Stockenbarrel and sold for 3,000. Sancho, Brownie, Eliminator, Gigantes, and Orc King can equip it.
