Dark Gryphons are bipedal Birds with feathers as black a blots of ink. These monsters have a habit of only appearing when a world is being besieged by an an Archfiend during the final act of a game.

Etymology[edit]
- The Japanese name for the monster references Jamirus, one of the four Dread Fiends to the Archfiend Mortamor. Whether there is a direct relation between the Dark gryphon species and Jamirus is up to the player's imagination.
