Fatalistick, also known as Deadwood, is a recurring item in the Dragon Quest series. It is a warped piece of lumber with a sinister aura that is used as a crafting ingredient. Its name is a play on the word "fatalistic".

Dragon Quest X[edit]

Fatalistick is used as a material for crafting weapons, clothing, and furniture. It can be purchased from a material shop for 390 gold, picked up from sparkly spots, or dropped by various monsters including Grim grinners, Treevils, Zamtasms, Gasmons, and Lump wizards.

Fatalisticks can be picked up from sparkly spots in the Heliodor Region, the Last Bastion, and the Heliodorian Foothills during the second act, as well as the lower region of the Manglegrove and Insula Algarum*. It can also be dropped by Vicious stump chumps and Bingo bango bongos. It can be sold for 97 gold.

Dragon Quest Heroes II: Twin Kings and the Prophecy's End[edit]

Known as Deadwood in this game, it can be used as a material for improving various accessories or sold for 64 gold. It can be dropped by Treevils, Zamtasms, and Mummies or picked up from sparkly spots in the Damned Dunes.
