Hideous eyesaur

From Dragon Quest Wiki

The Hideous eyesaur is a monster that appears exclusively in Dragon Quest VII.

It is a horrific monster from the depths of the sea that is covered in eyes. Its name is a play on the term "hideous eyesore".

Hideous eyesaurs are a evil sea worms that have grown to a monstrous size, using the many menacing eyes on its body to look for prey and sending them into a deep sleep with their stare. They attack by leaping up into the air and slamming their bodies down on their enemies. The monsters are also able to strengthen their allies by casting Oomph. Due to their relative rarity, many seafaring adventurers will find it difficult to even encounter one of these eldritch beasts in the first place. Those that persist in hunting the hideous eyesaurs down may be rewarded for their efforts with a rare Mad cap.
