The Horknight is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series, first appearing in Dragon Quest XI. It is an armoured Grublin riding on the back of a wasp mount.
Characteristics[edit]
Horknights are more heavily armored cavalrymen compared to their foot soldier counterparts, donning simple iron breastplates and horned iron masks, along with a pair of leather gloves. They wield jousting lances in their right hands instead of their chipped swords, using their left hands to hold the reins that maneuver their wasp mounts. The wasps have yellow bodies with brown stripes on their abdomens and they wear leather masks and saddles on the back of their thoraxes in order to seat their riders. They can fire off stingers laced with a sleep-inducing toxin at their opponents.
Appearances[edit]
Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age[edit]
If a horknight is sparkling, its mount can be ridden after defeating it in battle. The wasp hovers in midair and can fly over low bodies of water, as well as being able to make small hops.
Dragon Quest Monsters: Terry's Wonderland 3D[edit]
Horknight appears as a D-rank monster of the Nature family exclusive to the SP version of the game.
Dragon Quest Monsters 2: Iru and Luca's Marvelous Mysterious Key[edit]
Horknight appears once again as the same rank and family exclusive to the SP version.
