The vladiator is a monster that appears exclusively in Dragon Quest III. It is the strongest of the three vampire types in Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of Salvation, haunting the northern steppes of Mur.

Etymology[edit]

As with the other two vampires, the Vladiator is named after Vlad Tepes III, also known as Vlad the Impaler. The Japanese name, Barnabus, is a reference to the character in the vampire soap opera Dark Shadows.
