The Deadcurion is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series, first appearing in Dragon Quest V. These undead soldiers perished in battle and continue to wield their weapons and armor from beyond the grave.

Characteristics[edit]

Long dead warriors that have walked the battlefield for ages, forever leaning on their lances. They can still wield it effectively, able to lash out with violent stabbing or slashing attacks to deal extra damage. Their spearheads are also coated in a toxin that can paralyse their opponents. When the deadcurions returned in IX, they also gained the ability to perform lethal stabbing attacks with their lances, true to their names. The zombies wear a full set of silver armour, including a plumed knight's helmet, and a tattered red cape that hangs from their shoulders. Although not a massive threat, their frightening appearance has sent many an adventurer screaming from battle. Their most notable feature is the horrifying eyeball that lazily hangs from their skulls.
