Minister Misericord is a minor character in Dragon Quest Swords: The Masked Queen and the Tower of Mirrors. His voice was provided by Jon Glover.
As Queen Curtana's personal retainer, he is responsible for much of Avalonia's day-to-day affairs. He is also very knowledgeable in much of its lore. When speaking, he has a tendency to try and use unnecessarily ostentatious vocabulary, which only ends up causing him to trip over his own tongue and end up saying nothing at all.
In keeping with the Dragon Quest Swords quirk of all characters being named after a type of sword, a misericord is long, narrow knife, thin enough to be able to strike through the gapes between armour plates and thus deliver the death stroke to a seriously wounded knight.
