The Queen slime is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series, first introduced in Dragon Quest X.
Characteristics
Queen slimes are the female counterpart of the King slime. These Slimes are made of pink jelly and they wear red rouge makeup on their cheeks, along with false eyelashes. To contribute to their royal aspect they wear a silver crown with a turquoise jewel with a white cloth cap. Despite putting on charming airs, the Queen slimes are consistently described as being cold-blooded and shrewdly calculating. In battle, this translates to mastery of ice magic, lobbing Kacrack and Kacrackle at parties while using other Slimes to guard herself.
In various spinoff games, a Queen slime is also able to be formed from the Slimification of eight Pink slimes, much like their male counterparts.
Appearances
Dragon Quest X
Queen slimes were alluded to in promotional materials before the game was released, and were a part of the game at launch with version 1.0. Queen slimes are the most powerful slime monsters after the Emperor Slime, and can be found in groups of King slimes. A queen slime will cast Kacrack and Magic Barrier under normal conditions, but if her HP is lowered to 2/3rds then she will become Enraged and cast Kacrackle with a higher critical spell chance.
Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age
Queen slimes do not appear as enemies in any version of the game, but they do make cameo appearances in the slot machines at the various Casinos. When one appears, she will re-roll one bar of the slot machine and guarantee a winning combination.
