The Coralossus is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series, first appearing in Dragon Quest XI. It is a golem with a body made up of pink coral.
Characteristics[edit]
Coralossuses are a marine variety of golems, being hulking man-shaped monsters that are made of moss-covered sea rocks and pink coral. They have a maw-like opening on their faces that display a pair of eyes that glow from the darkness. They possess formidable attack and defensive abilities, being able to protect their weaker allies with their bulk and calling forth pillars of ice-cold sea water to overwhelm opponents. They disguise themselves as harmless piles of rocks and coral on beaches in order to ambush curious adventurers. According to their bestiary description in XI, the coral golems were once created as weapons for undersea battles long ago.
Appearances[edit]
Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age[edit]
A pair of coralossuses are faced as minibosses in the Grotta della Fonte early in the game. They can later be faced as regular enemies.
Dragon Quest Monsters 2: Iru and Luca's Marvelous Mysterious Key[edit]
Coralossus appears as a C-rank monster of the Material family in the SP version of the game, released for smart phones in 2018.
