The Drag racer is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series, first introduced in Dragon Quest VII. It is a dinosaur-like dragon with horns and spikes all over its body.
Characteristics
Drag racers are very large dopey looking dinosaurs, similar to theropods, having a large upper body and head balanced by its long tail, and a pair of puny arms. It is covered with blue scales and has a light beige underside, and has teal spikes down its back, ending with two pairs of yellow spikes on its tail. It has a pair of large, curved horns on its head and one on its nose, which it uses when headbutting foes. These horrendous headbutts have the power to knock adventurers down and out of action. Curiously, they are also capable of busting out a blizzard-like chilly breath attack to damage all opponents.

Due to a programming oversight drag racers do not take any extra damage from Dragon Slash, but its palette swaps do.

Dragon Quest Tact

The drag racer can also be scouted as the player climbs to the 9th and 14th floors, with each floor increasing in difficulty. It could eventually be recruited in Part 2 of the main storyline in Chapter 7, Episode 4: Moving On. The drag racer can participate in the Battle Roads of Kiefer, Mont Leonis, and the Sweet troll as a party member.
