The Blood mummy is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series, first appearing in Dragon Quest VIII. It is a mummy covered in blood-stained bandages.

Characteristics

Blood mummies are red-coloured variant of the Mummy. Seemingly revived against their will by mad cultists, their namesake comes from the sacrifices needed to animate them. They are capable of sending out orbs of pure hatred to curse their enemies. The mummies can be troublesome enemies due to their tendency to appear in groups, resistance against physical attacks, and ability to reduce the tension of opponents with their strikes, depending on the game.

A Blood Mummy appears in the Monster Arena with a Bloody blade, Bloody hand, and a Hellbound hunter. It has yet to appear in the field as a normal enemy.
