Diethon (DQVI)

Revision as of 02:40, 4 January 2024 by Heroman12 (talk | contribs)
For the blue pallet swap of the Crested viper that first appeared in Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen, see Diethon (DQVII).

Characteristics

The purple poisonous pouting Diethon lay in wait in eggs deep with caverns, just waiting to crack and start causing chaos with their threateningly toxic Venom Mist. The viper's teeth also drip with venom, meaning even a single bite can spell long lasting disaster.

In the Wayfarer's Pass cave, a Hacksaurus (later named Lizzie) is seen guarding her eggs that hatch into Diethons when interacted with. While the two monsters are completely different in terms of appearance and abilities, it may suggest that there is a metamorphic relationship between the two types of monster. Additionally, in IX and XI, the Diethon is part of the Dragon family even though it originally did not take extra damage from Dragon Slash in VI.
