Sandstorm

Sandstorm is an ability in the Dragon Quest series.

It blinds enemies with dusty debris and reduces their accuracy to 5/8ths (62.5%).

Sandstorm was retroactively added to the 2024 remake as the Thief's default skill. It costs 3 MP.

Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly BrideEdit

Sandstorm is used by foetid ferrets, flatulent ferrets, mother ockers, and drag-goons.

Dragon Quest VI: Realms of RevelationEdit

Sandstorm is learned at the first rank of the Thief vocation and targets all enemies. In the DS remake the skill's range was reduced to one enemy group. It is used by the enemies prison guard and chompoceros.

Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten PastEdit

Sandstorm is again learned at rank 1 of the Thief, but can also be acquired at Rank 4 of the Mimic vocation. In the 3DS remake the skill's range was reduced to one enemy group.

It can be used by the enemies shabby cats, Bagley, Rashers, half hogs, whole hogs, hell hogs, and vile vials.

Sandstorms is only used by Jargons.

Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry SkiesEdit

Sandstorm is used by enemies such as power hammers.

Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive AgeEdit

Sandstorm is an enemy-only skill used by monsters such as the weartiger.

Dragon Quest MonstersEdit

This ability requires the monster to reach Level 10 with 47 MP and 41 Intelligence. It is naturally learned by the BigRoost, MetalDrak, MiniDrak and Trumpeter.

Dragon Quest Monsters 2Edit

SandStorm now requires 70 Intelligence to learn. It is naturally learned by the Brushead, Grakos and RushFish.
