A wyrm composed of weeds, the Dragonthorn is a story-related monster debuting in Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King. In it, they are the product of Dhoulmagus' curse set upon the kingdom of Trodain.

Despite being composed of plant matter, the species does not belong to the Nature family.

  • A Snapdragon is a real-world plant, scientific name Antirrhinum, found in rocky regions in Europe, North America, and Northern Africa. They are named such due to their resemblance to European dragons.
