Cleohatra is the Queen of the desert kingdom of Helmunaptra in Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride.
A mystical sage as well as a monarch, she safeguards the Zenithian helm in anticipation of the Legendary Hero's return.

Cleohatra is first encountered when the Hero and his wife visit Helmunaptra in the second generation. She senses a mysterious power in the Hero and invites him to try on the Zenithian Helm in hopes that he might be the Legendary Hero she has been awaiting, but just as with the Zenithian Sword, he is unable to equip it.
In the third generation, she similarly oversees the Prince of Gotha's attempt to don the helm, which is successful.
Etymology[edit]
- Cleohatra is a combination of Cleopatra, the name of the last and most famous queen of the Ptolemaic Dynasty of Egypt and lover of Julius Caesar, and "hat", in reference to her guardianship over the Zenithian Helm.
- Cleohatra's Japanese name, アイシス, is borrowed from the Egyptian goddess Isis. The town of Isis (or Ibis) has the similar name イシス.
Trivia[edit]
- Because Helmunaptra is said to have been founded by a companion of the last Legendary Hero and Cleohatra possesses the ability to see the future, it is commonly speculated that she may be a distant descendant of Meena Mahabala.
