Prince (later King) Wilbur is a character in Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride. He is Prince Harry's half-brother, the son of his father the King of Coburg and his second wife the Queen Dowager.

When first met in the first generation, Wilbur seems to be a normal young boy who loudly protests that he doesn't want to be Coburg's king. However, his doting mother the Queen Dowager has other plans: she hires thugs to kidnap Prince Harry and sell him into slavery to clear the way for her own son to take the throne.

However, the Dowager herself was being manipulated by the Order of Zugzwang, and in short order she is thrown into the castle dungeon and replaced by a monstrous doppelganger, the Faux Dowager. Wilbur officially ruled the kingdom, but in truth he was only a puppet of the creature imitating his mother.

After the Hero and Harry escape from slavery at Crocodilopolis, though Harry at first has little interest in returning to Coburg, the duo eventually hear too many foul rumors about the kingdom to ignore. After various trials and tribulations, they are able to use Ra's Mirror to unmask and destroy the Faux Dowager. Having matured considerably since his selfish childhood, Harry releases the imprisoned real Queen Dowager and does not dispute Wilbur's rule, instead choosing to work as his advisor so they can restore Coburg to its former glory together.

By all accounts, after being freed from the Faux Dowager's influence and with his half-brother's help, Wilbur is an able and popular king. Wilbur does not have children, and by the third generation, it has been decided that Harry and Maria's son Kendrick will inherit the throne of Coburg, restoring the original line of succession.
