Scout Run

The Scout Run is a feature in Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World, accessible through the paddock in Boughborough.

Within the Scout Run, the player is provided with a limited supply of special meat items called scouty snacks and set loose to try and recruit as many rare monsters as possible, but only with quick scouting. The concept is similar to the Safari Zones that appear in some Pokémon titles, providing the player with a limited supply of monster-catching items to snag uncommon beasties and removing the ability to engage in standard battles.

One of the game's DLC items is the Scout Run VIP Card, which provides the player with more scouty snacks per attempt, increases the number of monster spawns, and allows the player to undertake the Scout Run more often by reducing the wait times between uses.
