"Low, moi? So true... From your standpoint, at least.
But from down here in the pit, your anguished cries are simply proof of a stellar production."

Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World[edit]

Thespidor is makes his debut after the defeat of Barbarito in The Spelunk and the destruction of the meteocite crystals blocking the way to the last known patch of leaves of life that grows in the deepest part of the cave.

Annoyed with our heroines for ruining his meteocite, Thespidor responds in kind by burning the leaves of life with an enormous fireball and dashing the girls' hopes of curing their fathers. As they fall into despair at the sight, he drains their misery, explaining that this is also the purpose of meteocite - stealing the life from the land and absorbing the people's despair, for use in the revival of Lucifus.
