Leaves of life
The leaves of life are a fabled medicine that appears in Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World. Once commonplace in the Kingdom of Witherwood, the leaves have largely vanished from the land since the corruption of Lucifus and the subsequent disappearance of the priestess Almira.
After Bianca and Nera's fathers fall ill, both girls find the same passage about the leaves of life in an old book, claiming that the leaves flourish "beyond the Way of Light". The girls search for this Way of Light without success, but are visited one night by Fluffy, who reveals that the Way is in fact the magical pathway to the parallel world of the Dragon Quest Monsters series, specifically the Kingdom of Witherwood. The girls follow the path and meet in The Parchland, where Fluffy directs them to meet with King Withers to ask about the leaves.
Debora, who had earlier dismissed the leaves of life to Nera as just a fairy tale, was also brought to Witherwood, though by Fizzy rather than Fluffy. Debora insists that her interest in the leaves is primarily for their value as a moisturiser, which she heard about from Fizzy. King Withers directs Bianca, Nera and Debora to The Spelunk, where the last known patch of leaves of life in Witherwood might be found.
