Erdrick's Armour is a legendary suit of sublime steel that has appeared in the first two games of the Erdrick Trilogy. Its original name was the auroral armour before it was claimed by the mythical Hero of yore. It is the de facto ultimate armour in every game of the original trilogy, and when appearing in later titles it easily ranks among the best options available to the player.

Erdrick's armour is the most powerful piece of armour in the game, located in the ruined town of Damdara and guarded by a knight aberrant. When equipped, it adds +28 to the Hero's Defence. In addition, Erdrick's Armour lives up to its legendary repute by reducing incoming magic and breath damage by 33%, preventing enemy Fizzle spells from working, protecting against damage from toxic bogs and magic barriers, and restoring 1 HP for every step taken.

Dragon Quest II: Luminaries of the Legendary Line[edit]

The mail is found in the third floor of the chasm leading to Rendarak, in the bottom-rightmost section of the floor near a set of stairs. Donning it grants +70 Defence this time, along with the expected 33% reduction to breath and magic and harsh terrain immunity but no longer recovers HP while walking. It may be equipped only by the Prince of Midenhall.

Dragon Quest Tact[edit]

Erdrick's Armour is an S-rank piece of armor that can be acquired as part of the limited True Dragon Quest I event by clearing Demon in the Swamp on Hard difficulty. It has a Defense bonus of +20, rarely raises the wearer's Physical Res at the start of an action, and has three slots for Alchemy Effects.
