Numpton is a minor character and boss that appears in Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past.
Characteristics[edit]
Numpton is a human wizard and one of the would-be champions at the Allblades Arena hoping to gain his freedom from the monsters controlling the arena. He has a dark brown pointed mustache and beard and wears flowing black and purple robes and a pointed hat, as well as a necklace with turquoise jewels. In battle, he has the appearance of a Wrecktor, wearing a white robe with a lime green cape and sleeves and a black bat insignia on the front, a white mask with a red jewel that covers his face, and wielding a tall wand topped with a blue orb. He fights alongside three Drake slimes and casts a variety of different spells in battle.

Strategy[edit]
It is recommended to take out Numpton's Drake slimes before him as they can damage the entire party with their fire breath. Equipping either the Hero or Ruff with a Boomerang is a good idea to be able to dispatch the slimes quickly. Numpton is not a difficult opponent to deal with, but his ability to silence or confuse a party member with Fuddle can become annoying. If the player acquired a Snooze stick before the battle, it can make the battle more manageable as both the slimes and Numpton himself can be put to sleep. Zev can be helpful in the battle by casting Bang or healing party members with his Midheal.
